There are many different types of fire bricks, which are made from different materials. You may find fire bricks made from alumina, silica, ferric oxide, titanium, and other metallic oxides. The alumina content in these bricks varies depending on the application. They are usually about 30%-40% alumina, but may be higher or lower. During the manufacturing process, the fire brick may be stained or glazed for special purposes.

It is important to choose fire bricks that will stand up to the high temperatures, and won't become brittle over time. It also needs to have a good density to resist wear.
