Refractory

Future development of refractories
Future development of refractories mainly includes the following aspects:
1. in terms of amorphous refractories, they are mainly refractory castables, which are used for blast furnace lining (Gunning Technology), iron ditch in blast furnace casting yard, ladle and ladle lining, molten steel furnace external treatment equipment, dry process cement kiln external circulation heat exchanger, as well as thermal insulation materials and repair refractories.
2. in terms of shaped refractories, new clay bricks and high alumina bricks with high technical potential are produced, such as lining materials for some areas of cement kilns, flow steel bricks, refractory bricks for blast furnaces and their hot blast stoves, andalusite bricks for blast furnaces and hot blast stoves, products for anode baking furnaces, clay and high alumina insulation bricks, etc.
For refractories, it is a trend to develop from shaped products to amorphous refractories (mainly refractory castables). The use of amorphous refractories can not only increase the lining life of traditional metallurgical equipment such as blast furnace, ladle and tundish, but also significantly reduce the amount of labor in front of the furnace and improve the lining speed. The obvious progress in this respect is the production and application of andalusite products. At present, its application scope has been expanded to cement rotary kilns, blast furnaces and hot blast stoves. Amorphous refractory materials can be divided into castable, plastic, ramming, spraying, projecting, refractory mud, refractory coating, etc.
